Movie Description: The Ugly Truth (2009) is a romantic comedy directed by Robert Luketic, starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. Abby Richter (Heigl) is a romantically challenged morning show producer in Sacramento whose rigid checklist for the perfect man has left her hopelessly single. When her struggling TV station hires the chauvinistic, politically incorrect cable-access personality Mike Chadway (Butler) to boost ratings, the two immediately clash. But when Abby meets her seemingly perfect neighbor Colin (Eric Winter), Mike strikes a deal: he'll coach her to win Colin using his no-nonsense dating rules — and if his advice fails, he'll quit the show. As Mike's outrageous tactics begin to work, both he and Abby start to discover that the ugly truth about love is far more complicated and surprising than either of them expected. The film also stars Cheryl Hines, John Michael Higgins, Nick Searcy, and Bree Turner. Produced by Columbia Pictures (Sony Pictures).
