Shaun (Simon Pegg) wakes up hungover, walks to the corner shop for a Cornetto, and somehow doesn't notice the zombie apocalypse happening all around him. Blood on the streets, wrecked cars, actual walking dead - none of it registers. It takes a zombie girl literally turning up in his back garden for the penny to drop. Then he and Ed (Nick Frost) catch the news and hear the line that changes everything: "Remove the head or destroy the brain." From Edgar Wright's Shaun of the Dead (2004). The scene that put this movie on the map.

Movie Description: Shaun of the Dead (2004), directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Simon Pegg. Pegg plays Shaun, a 29-year-old going nowhere in particular: dead-end retail job, every evening at the same pub, and a girlfriend (Liz, played by Kate Ashfield) who's had enough of both. Then the dead start getting back up, and Shaun decides this is somehow his chance to sort his life out. The plan: grab his mum (Penelope Wilton), win Liz back, get everyone to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all this to blow over. His best mate Ed (Nick Frost) tags along whether anyone asked him to or not. Bill Nighy plays Shaun's stepdad Philip. Lucy Davis is Dianne. Dylan Moran is David. Peter Serafinowicz is flatmate Pete. First film in the Cornetto Trilogy. Funny, scary, and by the end, surprisingly sad. Sometimes all three at once.
