Movie Description: After being kicked out of his rock band, slacker guitarist Dewey Finn (Jack Black) faces a mountain of debts and depression. He shares an apartment with his best friend, Ned Schneebly (Mike White), an old band member who is now a substitute teacher. Desperate for money, Dewey pretends to be Ned and accepts a job as a substitute teacher at the prestigious Horace Green Prep elementary school. What starts as a scam becomes a life-changing experience when Dewey discovers his students are talented young musicians. He transforms the class into a rock band to compete in the "Battle of the Bands" competition, hoping to win the $20,000 prize. Along the way, he teaches them - and himself - that rock isn't about perfection, it's about passion.
